Ebitomi Banigo

Ebitomi Banigo: Banking The Best Way

Ebitomi Banigo is an accomplished manager of men and materials. This is a well-known fact which even his enemies would acknowledge. As managing director of International Merchant Bank, IMB, he built the IMB Plaza over-looking the Atlantic ocean. That building passes as one of the most significant structures on our shores today. Apart from the physical structure he left behind, it is an acknowledged fact that the Banigo era at IMB was its most glorious period. His management style helped him to attract and retain some of the best minds in the industry at the time. Today, most of the staff who worked under him are successfully managing younger banks. And they proudly proclaim that they trained under the dynamic and able Banigo.

Many years after his magic at IMB, Banigo re-enacted his sparkling form when, during the free-for-all Babangida era, he established the All States Trust Bank, a modern bank by all standards. With the indiscriminate licencing of banks under the guise of deregulation, many fly-by night banks emerged without the slightest regard for prudent management and what is proper. The result, expectedly, was that many of the banks went under, consumed by the distress virus. But Banigo's All States Trust Bank has remained strong like the rock of Gibraltar. A great manager of the first order. That is Banigo.

But the man and his bank are not resting on their oars. To remain relevant, the bank has continued to respond to the challenges of the moment. It recently launched a novel product. No doubt, Ebitomi Banigo is a man with the midas touch. Whatever he touches turns into gold. This derives largely from his approach to management, a painstaking and forward-looking style which does not take anything for granted. This is simply why his bank has remained firm and unshaken despite the widespread problems in the financial institutions, particularly the banks.

Given his well known managerial acumen, watchers of the financial sector are cock-sure that come rain, come shine, his bank will remain solvent because it is built on a solid foundation and watered with efficient and serious management. Besides, the man's reputation is also an invaluable asset to his bank as people believe, rightly, that with him, nothing can go wrong as far as the bank is concerned.
