Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai
Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai - Privatisation Agency Boss
Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai is the Director-General and CEO of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, the implementing agency for the Nigerias Privatization Program. He is also a member and Secretary of the National Council on Privatization, the policy making body of the program.
Mallam El-Rufai was born in Daudawa, Katsina State on 16th February 1960, but hails from Kaduna State, the ancient capital of Northern Nigeria.
He graduated with first class honors in Quantity Surveying from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1980. El-Rufai also holds Masters Degree in Business Administration from the same University in 1984. His other chain of qualifications include a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science, Certificate on Privatization from Arthur D. Little School of Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA and attended the prestigious Harvard Business School in USA for Owner/President Management Program. He recently completed a leadership-training program at the George Washington University School of Foreign Service and he is on the final stages of an LL.B Final Part II from the University of London, External Programs.
Besides establishing a successful Quantity Surveying practice, El-Rufai & Partners, he has held senior positions with such international giants as AT&T and Motorola. El-Rufai came into national and international prominence in June 1998 when he was appointed to the Abdulsallami Abubakar Administrations Program Implementation Monitoring Committee (PIMCO), a think tank in the office of the then Head of State of Nigeria.
He is married with children.
